SO tell me, What kind of photo sesh are we having?

SENIORS + PROFESSIONALS

+I love one on one portrait sessions, it is always wonderful to get to capture an individual personality!

+ Especially for portrait sessions, I want to know about YOU! What are you passionate about, what spaces and places would best fit your personality?!

+Is there something extra you would like at your session that we could discuss? (this could be something you bring, or something I add, such as sports gear, a guitar, disco ball, so may options!)

+More than one outfit? I can bring my changing tent! I reccomend 1 outfit for short and sweet sessions and 1-3 (sometime 4) for full sessions for seniors and professionals. Make sure to choose outfits you feel confident in! When in doubt, neutrals are always a great compliment to you in photos but I also want your personality to shine and am not afraid of color or pattern. Check out more in the outfit guide for added help too (link at the bottom of the page)

+ I want to bring out your confidence and will help you build that throughout our session!

+Don't hold back, let out the laugh, take in the moment, worry less about what you might look like in the moment and more about being in the moment! It all translates into your photos. I am here to help with that and will never leave you looking awkward. If I don't guide you to position yourself different, assume and know you look amazing and rock on! I work with you and naturally help you pose and move in ways that translate into candid non stiff moments on camera

+YOU, and your story matter to me. I am so excited to help you tell it!

IN HOME SESSION?

+ In home sessions can be for anyone! Family, newborn family, pets, couples, even seniors/ headshots.

+When I enter your home I want to see your favorite spaces but I am also looking for light. Windows and natural light are great! Opening blinds and curtains can be helpful

+ My style is often very candid and more about real life moments though I will still help place and guide you. I am looking for those moments that seem mundane but will someday be missed.

+ No, you don't have to have everything organized and perfect. I'm there for memories and not to judge!

That means too, don't worry if your home isn't "perfect." A home that I am welcomed to enter, that is perfect to me!! I never take that lightly and want you to cherish these memories

+ Pets are always welcome! (for any session!)

+ Consider doing something fun at home during your session if you would like (bake together, board games, pillow fight, make a special drink)

+ for good measure, lets talk about two spots in your home ahead of time that we can utilize

MOMENTS WITH FAMILY? GROUPS?

+ I try to get the classic smiling shots done first so the rest of our session can be playful and in the moment as much as possible! (though I may get a few in different locations)

+I am not phased by wildness. Bring all your wild, come as you are! We will make great memories and I will use that wildness :)

+Little one not looking? Try not to point towards the camera to get them to look and instead pull them close for a hug or snuggle, I will work to get their attention if need be, but I will also be guiding you and giving you prompts and stepping back too when I see moments unfolding. Be on their level, if they are insisting on cuddling, cuddle with them, if they are having a moment it is okay! I am always here to help and never watching with intent to judge, NOT at ALL I have been there and just want to love you and lovingly document this season of life for you, and all the in-betweens.

+If a little one is unhappy, its okay, comfort them as much as needed. I will also work to make sure they have a good experience too, always!

+Don't be afraid of a little silliness and let's make memories!

FOR THE LARGER GROUPS

+If with family or larger groups: Stick together as we are walking and moving about our photo session. It helps me photograph in-between moments. I will organize ya too no worries! Don't worry about everyone looking at the camera, I will get everyone's attention if needed. When you focus on presence over perfection, that is where the magic is!

+ With extended family session? let's plan for must have combinations and I always appreciate knowing any important details before our shoot!

+Interact and make the most of your time together

COUPLES?

+I want to celebrate your connection, make memories, and just have fun!

+I want this session to represent who you are as a couple!

+It can be in home, out and about, or both!

+ Through your session, think of what you love about the other person, what do you admire about them (this will show on camera!)

+ I will give you prompts that help you to interact as a couple, but it is up to you both to make the most of trying them and let loose a little when you're able :)

+ We can absolutely do something special at your session! (eat your favorite food, go to your favorite place, go on adventure, shopping, baking you name it!)

+ Remember I am here for your legacy and your story, that is what I want to capture!

MATERNITY | NEWBORN?

+ Maternity photos can be just mom or mom and partner! I typically recommend having your session in 28-36 weeks

+ These sessions like all others can be anywhere!

+ I take into account the accessibility of our location and how comfortable it will be for you in all that we do at a session

Newborn

+ When booking a newborn session after already having/booking a maternity session with me, you will receive discount off your newborn session.

+ I really don't have a perfect time as to when I photograph newborns with my more candid style anything works! But if you want the true newborn stage captured I recommend 1-2.5 weeks old, so they are sleepy and still that newborn squishy (lol) HOWEVER I always check in see how you're feeling, and we can always adjust the timing of your session.

+I focus on connection in all of my photography, so even in my newborn photography, it is less posed and more based in real life. However I will still get you comfortable and do a few posed shots too.

+Feeding baby before the session is a great idea, but I am completely okay if they need fed during, and crying or fussing is totally okay! (That is what newborns do! I mean if you're having a hard day and need to cry and fuss too, I am here for you!)

+I provide additional swaddles for newborn sessions. Again less posed but always get baby on their own too!

+don't worry if your baby has a little newborn rash or dry skin! That is normal!

+ I want to bring peace and joy into your session!

PETS + Animals?

A few tips I find helpful when bringing a pet to your session!

Tip 1. If your pet requires a leash, make sure it’s one you don’t mind in photos! That way you don’t have to hide it, or be holding their collar worried they may run off!

2. Bring a favorite toy or a few small treats that I can hold! It helps me get them to interact with my camera and get some really fun shots!

3. Of course work with me to try to get them to sit if need be or be turned a certain way, get their ears up, but know that I normally follow the animal's lead to make things easier.

4. Think about your interaction with them during the session, trying to remain calm and finding ways to love on them, will not only make them feel at ease, but will also make for more genuine moments to be captured!

5. Let’s have a plan in place for after their role is done in photos, car nearby windows down or A/c on, on a hot day? Water for refueling too is always a good idea on those wickedly warm summer days.

6. Second to last point that maybe should have been first, when arriving at the location, I always give pets a minute to meet me and feel out the surroundings.

7. Be open to fun and funny moments, because there is sure to be some!
