MY POLICIES

+ If it is calling for 50% chance of rain or more during the time of your session we have some options: reschedule (though this can be difficult), find an indoor option (though not always possible depending on the session), bring fun umbrellas and realize we might get wet.

+ I wait until the night before or morning of to make a call, the weather is often changing!

+ In the case of rain, I will ask your opinion to see how you feel, but I do carry the final say. I weigh things based on shelter available, number of people at your photo session/type of session, and ages of those involved.

+ We could in some cases switch to an in home/ at home shoot like this family pictured here!

+ In the case of inclement snow or ice conditions, plus hazardous conditions, we will play by ear and watch, but my clients' safety is my first priority

Cold Weather Tips

1. If you’re really wanting to capture moments, but really hate the thought to be outside in the cold, there is always the option of a cozy in home session! We can talk more! Or we can utilize ways to keep you warm! (hand warmers and scarves anyone??)

2. Know your limits, plan accordingly! Think warmth. A warm jacket, maybe a sweater and scarf, vest, fun hat? All awesome! Gloves, and extra blankets are welcome too!

3. Consider what we do at your session, we could do half indoor (maybe baking cookies, drinking coffee, just snuggles) and then head outside to play in the snow!) But, something YOU want to do!

4. A nice lil fire (in appropriate places of course!)

5. Layers! Socks, long Johns. Hand warmers?

6. Doing something special (ie. Hot pizza picnic in the snow?! Coffee? Snowball fight?!) this is where customizing your session comes into play. All things like hot food and movement help with warmth.

7. Always bring an extra blanket for little ones and yourself too (I will have blankets too!) any extra layers for before and after your shoot also

8. Don’t be afraid to have fun! That will help the session flow faster and better. Then, you can retreat to your warm home or car after knowing you just made memories.
